There is a new wonderfully written post on The Huffington Post by Bob Cesca endorsing Senator Barack Obama as the only candidate who can rejuvenate hope for the American Dream. I concur, and I hope everyone has a chance to get out and see him orate in the flesh because he is truly an impressive communicator. I have never supported a candidate for President that I truly felt embodied hope for real change. I am not only energized by Senator Obama, in fact, I believe in him. I think this country, all of it, is a ready for a new face and new ideas, someone who hasn’t been around so long as to let his cynicism rule his conscience.I took these pictures in September of '06 at the first rally in Louisville. They kept the stupid fucking Baseball nets up, so a lot of the pictures didn't come out clear, which sucks, because there were a lot of good ones. I am reminded that someone had let off a loud single firework to the north of the Field outside the stadium while he was speaking, it startled a lot of people for a second and served as a reminder that this man is sacrificing himself wholly for what he believes in, and a lot of that is us as citizens of what used to be, and can be again, a great nation.
I rather like the second photo, for my own selfish reasons.
