Because my sister bought me and John two tickets to the Sharks v. Predators game for Xmas, and unfortunately we can't stand to be in the same room with one another right now, I got to take my girl with me to Nashville for the night because my mom was nice enough to pay for a room. It's kind of an early birthday present for my turkey. I don't pay any attention to Palin or any of the Tea Party (still the dumbest name ever) idiots, so I had no idea that the dipshit convention was being held at the same time here. You'd think with such a huge majority of the country identifying with these jackholes (not really, obviously) it would have been tough to get a reservation in this town. There was no challenge involved at all. Not only that, there were several "last minute" deals available that gave us the opportunity to stay at a nice place for considerably cheaper than regular price, I had my pick of any hotel at any rate in town. If I took these people seriously at all, I might feel like I was walking into the lion's den with my 5 year old. Instead I'm more worried about beating Nashville and afterward my daughter not grasping "their house" etiquette, getting us in to trouble. Fortunately, the couple of times I have been here, I've found that Nashvillians and Predator fans are some of the nicest people I've ever dealt with, and I've been a lot of places all over this country. A few years ago, some die-hard Pred fans even went so far as to seek us out in the parking lot to congratulate us when we beat them in a first round game five at Gaylord. I don't want any, and I hope I'm not jinxing us, but Tea Party or no Tea Party, win or lose, I'm pretty sure I'll have to look for trouble if I'm to see anything out of the ordinary during this trip. Considering I have my daughter, I just want us to have fun. But, I will update if anything interesting happens.
