About Julie Klausner...

I do not have her new book, I Don't Care About Your Band: What I Learned from Indie Rockers, Trust Funders, Pornographers, Felons, Faux-Sensitive Hipsters, and Other Guys I've Dated because I'm broke with immediate ER bills, my soon to be 5 year old's birthday, and no income (yet), but I have read an excerpt here. Julie is one of those chicks who seems to have always been around/in the circle of funny people I pay attention to. I have no idea where I first heard of her, but know I liked her instantly. She's funny, talented, and thankfully doesn't fit the mold of a typical hipster chick or wannabe dude, she's just Julie and that's why I love her. So here are some things by, with, and regarding Ms. Klausner. Enjoy.

I completely concur on the prepubescent John Larroquette lusting. I was way over-sexed way too early and he happened to be one of my first little girl tingles, too. Night Court and Stripes were two of my favorite things to watch at that age, hence Bill Murray being my very first sexually confusing crush, that I recall, anyway. Larroquette, I got over by age 11, however, I must admit, I'm still in love with Murray.

Interview with The Rumpus [Although, I found myself skimming the somewhat self-indulgent questions to get to the interviewee's answers. No offense to The Rumpus, whoever they are, but the questions could've used some tightening. I know, I'm one to talk.]

AV Club Review of the book.

That's enough Klausner for now, yes? No? Well, you can listen to a very funny Best Show with Julie here (1/26 archive). Or you can view her Tumblr page here. That has to be enough for now.

Now I just need to buy the fucking book myself!
