I think it's harder for us women to let this Palin bullshit go completely because of what's happening to gender equality as a result of her nomination. She's unraveling everything that Clinton built, and that pisses me off, I honestly never thought I'd back Clinton in that way. Those defaced Rosie the Riveter signs enraged me. Ask any half-assed feminist how they feel about this situation. Women who are usually fairly passive feminist activists are visibly angry. People who fervently opposed Clinton are now completely sympathetic to what she must be feeling right now. While Clinton is not the ideal spokesperson for Jane Q. Public, she did energize and give beaten and battered women (literally and figuratively) confidence and hope, and that cannot be overlooked. Palin stands to roll all of that back with her dick-chick routine. I have so many post ripping her fake persona to shreds to be used at a later time. This frustration is what they were banking on. Polarization and a hand from the media to make her the issue. But right now is just not the time. Now is the time to attack senile McCain and all of the blood thirsty republicans. Under normal circumstances, I would never attack a senile person, that is, unless he's trying to become one of the most powerful people in the world and will stop at nothing to make it happen. And there are millions of idiots who want to please their fathers by granting McCain's wish. That means all bets are off, mother fucker. To paraphrase Cusack, fuck 'em all, hold 'em down with a boot to the throat.

I would only add that one of the other shitty things about ignoring our republican-destroyed country for this woman is that we're also "vetting" Palin for her run in 2012. We're giving her built-in experience (like we saw Clinton take advantage of). So at the very least, if they don't win and get rid of McCain, their consolation prize is that they're propping up someone who likely won't even be ready to run in 4 years. But they won't care because she'll be properly GOP trained in neocon fear and manipulation by then. Won't that be fun.
