Obama on Patriotism

Well damn, Senator Obama always seems to take the initiative in playing the media like fiddle himself. Obama just spoke to all the "patriotism" bullshit we've had to endure over the past 7 years from Independence, MO. He even quoted Twain, to the crowd's delight. I wonder if the blogs will be as grateful as they should be for this opportunity.

How much do you want to bet that the only thing the MSM will pull from that entire speech will be that he said we should never disparage the service of any one who has fought for our country (seemingly countering Clark)? I don't believe in sweeping generalizations for anyone, so I don't entirely agree with that notion, but I don't think someone should be questioned on intent if they've served honorably. Stories like these show that we have to have a critical eye on our military, especially after the last 7 1/2 years. I don't think that it's a coincidence that statement came after he had just made the point the questioning government and dissension is necessary for a functioning democracy.

Thank you Senator Obama. Another awesome important speech. Will post ASAP.
