I was supposed to be going to TN tonight to see the Kids in the Hall, but waited too long to get decent tickets for two people. I contemplated going by myself, but decided that probably wouldn't be very fun. Hopefully, I'll get to to one of the other shows within the next week or so. Otherwise, no comedy until Mike Birbiglia in June (if I can go) or Louis CK in July (already bought the tickets) unless something comes up, or I travel or see a show while I'm out of town on other business. Which sucks, 'cause I really fucking like going to comedy shows, it's kind of taken the place for the need to see punk/oi shows. Thanks you funny, crass, politically incorrect bastards (& nice lady, if Maria could have made it with CoC), that was a huge void in my life.
This is unintentional comedy, I think. If I didn't have to drive so far I would love to go. I mean, what else could that guy do with his life? You just have read the summary (the picture is a necessary component, as well):
Rich Guzzi is all New York, all the time. With a brash swagger that controls the room, there is no mistaking his upbringing as soon as he opens his mouth.
More than just the class clown, Guzzi had a knack early on for soliciting laughter through his well-executed quips and anecdotes. It was this gift that would ultimately propel him to climb on stage and perform like he was shot out of a cannon and then hit the crowd with rapid-fire jokes as if they were loaded into a machine gun.
After a dozen years on stage and radio, Guzzi has mastered the art with style and substance – especially now, as he parlays his comic talents into a highly entertaining hypnosis show with maximum audience participation. These shows have it all… comedy, drama, characters, role-playing and self-awareness.
Never one to settle, Guzzi continues to expand his repertoire by appealing to the masses as a blue-collar self-help guy. Rich’s material is definitely real-life, and he considers himself a cross between Tony Robbins and Tony Soprano. This venue is a hybrid of his mesmerizing hypnosis, self-help and motivation delivered in his comedic form and almost daring you not to participate.
With a dance card this entertaining and varied, you don’t want to miss the Rich Guzzi show.
Now, I really kind of don't want to miss it. It just sounds too fucking funny to miss. If it wasn't so far away, and if someone else bought the tickets, and drinks, lots of them, and drove me there and back, even if I wanted to leave 5 minutes into the show, I'd totally go! Maybe next time Guzzi.
UPDATE: The Champions League Match is actually on ESPN2, so I don't have to pay a thing, nor waste time/money at some touristy over-priced pub downtown.
FUCK! Fucked by Disney/Directv, again! Right now there is just some fucking horrible infomercial on, so I'm watching the live commentary, looking for somewhere to watch the game. GODDAMMIT!
Woohoo, wow that sure would be great to be able to watch it.
Shit, maybe not.
Dammit, this is so nerve-wracking, I just keep hitting the refresh button over and over, and they're not updating it often enough. Dammit!
Jesus, what the hell is going on? This was a horrible idea. Fucking Drogba slapping my Vidic? Hilarious if you know the history. What an idiot!
Oh, Ronaldo, how could you? MMM-hmm, gonna be lots of talk about balls/nerves tomorrow.
Giggsy's the fucking hero, AGAIN!!!! United are Champions!!! I can't wait to watch this later, awesome. Congratulations on the double!
