I Call Bullshit

Call me a conspiracy theorist (go ahead, but you'd be wrong), but this seems a much too convenient time for Mark Penn to be stepping down as chief strategist. The campaign has already stated they don't think there is any conflict of interest, so think they can appear to save face by not discounting anything Penn has contributed to the Titanic-sized disaster of a campaign, up to now, and seemingly not diminishing her credibility for keeping him on in the first place (really, when could they have fired him without looking even weaker?). This allows them, in their twisted logic, to please those that wanted him gone (a long fucking time ago), but while taking responsibility for any real wrong-doing, in another attempt to straddle the moderate line. They also successfully changed the subject with the initial charges, the firing from Colombia, and now, Mark Penn quiting. They'll have the spotlight all fucking week, until the media allows them to control the narrative again, or Obama gives another historic speech. I wonder if the bullshit insurance story (based on a real tragic situation) will be swept out with Penn, who isn't really going anywhere.
