If you get the NHL Network and want to see an insane-awesome division rivalry game, turn on the Sharks vs. Stars game. In-fucking-sane!!! Joe Thornton pummeled Steve Ott, if that's any indication to hockey fans of what I'm saying. It's intermission, you've got time.
2nd Intermission. Background: This game means nothing to the Sharks other than establishing they're not taking any shit from anyone. While I'm sure it would be nice to get the win, that was not the main objective, which had already been completed by the end of the 1st. And no slighting or shitting on the Rangers/Devils game, as that is incredibly significant with the Rangers beating the Devils 7 times in a row, fighting for home ice, and leading into a 1st round meeting in the playoffs. Both 3rd periods (split-screening MSG) are going to be fucking nuts.
Season Over, for a few days. Both games were what they were billed to be. I'm satisfied with their efforts. Henrik is a god, watching he and Brodeur face one another in the first round again will be a treat as they play their best against one another. The Sharks just showed the league why you don't want to fuck with the Sharks - ya hear that ya dirty fucking Flames (Shark rejects)? Both were excellent examples of how the way the game is called can control the overall play. Stanley Cup teams have to play through all the bullshit, I believe they both can.
