In honor of us all getting the privilege of having of Gene Hackman on this earth for another year (even if he's long-since retired).  One of my most favorite actors, one of my most favorite movies, one of my most favorite soundtracks of all time. Just ask my kid how annoying I am about this movie. I've been begging her to learn to play this since she was a kid taking piano lessons. Although, I stopped asking when one of my good friends, who has played the piano her entire life, told me it's much more complicated than I might think. Then she learned to play the sax and I was like, what about this song (Blues for Harry), hmm?  She said to me, "I don't know how to play jazz sax (you fucking asshole - is probably what she was thinking)!"  I'm still gonna learn it on piano some day.  I love everything about this movie, theme, actor (in spite of him supposedly completely misunderstanding what Reagan was).

Also, footnote: The Conversation is one of the 5 movies John Cazale was in, who was brilliant in his own right and I also love so, so much, yet died way, way, way too soon. I think I've written about it before here, but if you've never seen I Knew It Was You, you should definitely watch it.
