O Canada!

That was absolutely fantastic. Wow. At one point about half way through, my now 5 year old daughter turned to me and said,"Mommy, it's so beautiful I think I'm going to cry." Which, of course, made me want to cry. K.D. Lang's Hallelujah was just amazing. Again, she turned to me and said, "She's soo beautiful." I fucking love my kid, I love the Winter Olympics, and I love Canadians, so I found the whole show extremely enjoyable. I honestly never watch the opening ceremony from beginning to end, but we both did this time around. And the torch lighting mechanical failure was equally entertaining. I love long, drawn-out, awkward pauses. We were appreciating and laughing at (with) the scrambling that must have been going on, but it really didn't detract from the overall show. It just added a little Canadian charm? Humility?

That said, "U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!"

Happy Birthday, my little turkey.
