You had to know there was more to last year's NBA fixing story. Yeah, and I'm a conspiracy nut (I'm not) and/or naive to think that sport could be fixed without everyone knowing about it. I must reiterate, I do think sports are fixed on many levels, and am fine with it, so long as I'm not treated like a rube who doesn't know a clear non-call when I see one. Starting at a very young age, I grew up watching boxing and college sports, I'm used to a tainted game. I don't bet on anything, so I don't care, as long as the athletes and fans don't feel cheated out of their hard work and cash. I just can't stand when it's easy to see the outcome of the fix five minutes into the game/match. Bad refs/fixers, game officials and executives, and shitty corporate commentators, who don't give a fuck about their responsibility to not insult the audience/fans, fuck up sports. They confuse people trying to learn a new sport and frustrate semi-newbies. Either way, they weed out folks who might otherwise become dedicated and knowledgeable fans. Those who would likely spend a lot of time and money on their sport of choice. Anyway, it's not the fix that kills sport and causes leagues to tank. It's not having respect for those who pay their salaries, those who make the game possible in the first place that make pro-sports shit.
It might be a shitty one for my first commentary paragraph in awhile, but it's better than nothing. Maybe not.
