What a Shitty Evening

Well that was horrible. All of it. The McCains gave two insanely bad speeches tonight. I can't see how anyone AT ALL was won over in the last 4 days. More on that in another post later.

Man that was anti-climactic. I'm watching Michael Gerson, a former Bush speech writer, rip McCain's speech apart, pretty entertaining. Who was he hoping to gain with that speech? He just pissed off the Bushites and those that he had won over last night, while not really appearing persuasive in his "reform" argument.

Cesca sums it up perfectly on his HuffPost liveblog:
Thinking in terms of undecided casual voters who watched both last night and tonight's coverage... If an undecided voter responded strongly to the batshit yelling from Mitt, Rudy and Palin, and then watched McCain, they were probably disappointed and let-down by McCain. If they responded well to McCain, they're probably now -- by contrast -- wondering, "Who the hell were those maniacs last night?!"
Why the fuck did Palin keep saying "beautiful" over and over again? I think we counted her mouthing "beautiful" at least 6 separate times, two of which seemed to have no context at all. One thing is clear, she sure likes herself a whole lot.

The night started off with Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone." In hindsight, I think that song sums up the ridiculousness of the evening.

Stupid Note: I've developed an abscess or some sort of sensitive growth on my jaw, and since this afternoon I have had a shooting pain from my lower cheek and jawline all the way up into my ear and cannot think straight at all. I probably won't be posting much because I cannot string thoughts together very succinctly right now. I have a few unfinished posts from earlier today I may put up, but I'm not sure because they're already out of date. I am one of those freaks who doesn't really mind tooth pain, but this is not tooth pain, this is in my jaw and head, and it hurts like a mother fucker. I may not have a choice but to go to the dentist tomorrow, so don't expect much out of me. Not that anyone gives a shit at all, I'm just a little out of it right now.
