Thank You, Cenk

Cenk speaks for me. I'm so annoyed with the pussification of this issue. This has nothing to do with Palin's daughter, personally, we could even call her daughter A if it makes you feel better. But when these assholes (her mother) who go around telling other parents and teens what they should and shouldn't be allowed to do, touting family values and other morally judgmental, usually hypocritical, bullshit are in a position to influence, make, or change laws, all things relevant get splayed out for all to see, that's the way it goes. You see, most of us liberals don't give a fuck what you do, it's your business as long as you're not harming anyone else. Right-wing nutbags do. In an election year it's necessary for them to define what it means to be "harmful" on the fly because it's how they control the narrative, and we let them. That's their whole lot in life, telling other people what is wrong and what's right by using guilt and intimidation. Personally, I don't give a shit one way or the other, she kept the baby, great, have a wonderful fucking life. But when Palin or the campaign try to use the Governor being a "good" mother as an indicator of her character and judgment, she is already using her family as a prop. Unfortunately, they'll be using the son that's going to Iraq on 9-11 as a prop sooner or later, too. That's their politics, and that's why this is all so insanely absurd. They're trying to make the nomination about Palin's character ("she has a great story"), but we can't talk about certain aspects of it. We can't talk about whether or not she's a responsible mom because it's sexist. Fuck you. That is sexism. If a man were to act as though his wife's water breaking a month early was no big deal in order to make it to a speech before having to fly back 8 hours on a plane, I wouldn't want anything to do with such an insensitive asshole, I certainly wouldn't elect him to be an aging heartbeat away from the Presidency. If a man had a son or daughter who was in Palin's daughter's situation, I wouldn't give a shit unless the man had outward beliefs that conveyed he thought that situation was "wrong" for others and wanted to be in a position to effect policy surrounding the issue. I wouldn't judge him if his kid had a drug problem and was entangled with the law, shit happens, but if that guy posted bail for his child and was trying to sweep the situation under a rug while being an active pursuant of tougher drug sentencing laws for juveniles, that would piss me off. I fucking hate hypocritical politicians who think I'm stupid. Most of them do, on either side of the aisle. That is what deserves my attention and anger.

Jesus man, stop letting the GOP and their media make up all the fucking rules.
