Memory Lane

I watched Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room again last night, and I suggest that everyone (re)watch it this week, as we're all forced to eat shit. There is a reason why Bush, Rove, and Cheney have a hard time hiding those smirks, even when they're trying to convey seriousness or concern. Everything is still going according to plan; they've been allowed to get away with all of it, so far. A small percentage of traitorous, blood-sucking assholes are stinking rich at the expense of everyone else the country -- young and old, sick or healthy, those engaged and those who are too busy avoiding homelessness to pay close attention -- their practices are completely indiscriminate in who they fuck. I bet the Bush family and all the original neocons are going to have one hell of a party on January 20th, even as President Obama is sworn in. They've gotten every fucking thing they wanted, and the effects will be seen well into the next term.

The recent series of events should be the culmination we've been waiting for. This is when the corporate media is exposed as co-conspirators. When we elect and approve a whole new accountable system of governance, one that more than most citizens will agree upon. A time when we don't hesitate to unflinchingly call out the blatant bullshit and say, "Enough!". This is who we've nominated, and there's going to have to be a team of professionals and a nation standing directly and firmly behind him.

Or we can buy McCain and his "brain's" bullshit, again. Finally become the 3rd world country they've been trying to permanently turn us into for at least 30 years. Senator McCain was a neocon long before Bush was, and he's even more dedicated to carrying out plans that leave the world less stable. The Maverick shit was pushed, even back in 2000, simply for the reason it's being used for: take the guy who is the real neocon, dress him up as someone who doesn't play by the rules he helped to create and call him a "maverick," a "change" from the last 8 years. McCain equals the final death blow to any semblance of an America we could recognize. I was scared in 2000, I was pissed in 2004, I am terrified and infuriated in 2008. I just hope at least 2/3 of the county feels similarly on November 4th. Right now, we really don't have much more than that hope Obama has been peddling his entire adult life. Luckily, that counts for a lot. It has to.
