If The Tables Were Turned Story Of The Week

Hell, I could probably do one every day. I point out this story for no other reason than to acknowledge that even if the media seems to be coming around a little bit after Palin and McCain's lies and manipulation insulted them -- mainly because of the potential damage the perception of complacency could have on the little credibility they still posses amongst some Americans -- the corporate press is still not covering the candidates fairly. Unfortunately, I know serious drug dependency all too well. One of my best and brightest friends has spent most of the last ten years of his life in the California prison system because of a heroin addiction (and he's not rich). I'm not judging Cindy McCain at all for her past drug abuse, I think admitting and learning from mistakes can make a person stronger and wiser, and I'd say the same thing about Michelle if the tables were turned. But let's be honest here, would Barack Obama have made it this far if Michelle had any history of adult drug dependency, complete with a soap opera story resembling this one (even if they were just rumors) - stealing the drugs from her own charity, and/or was possibly let off the hook on federal charges because of the Senator's influence? I think we all know the Obamas wouldn't have made it beyond January. (via TRex)

And this (via Aravosis).

I'm sure if this story is picked up, Michelle would have been treated as a victim of drug abuse in the same way that Mrs. Twelve Houses will be.
