I love some of ya, but Jesus, calm the fuck down everybody! If RU-486 is usually included in a rape kit (which seems logical), probably provided as an option for women who are not already using oral contraceptives, then I would say it's likely this is why she didn't want the state paying for them. And let's be honest, by doing so, she's responsible for intimidating rape victims and empowering rapists. Regardless of her reasoning, because there is no good explanation, it seems an obvious scandal, yes?
Some don't seem to understand or care that just because we're not in on the plan, doesn't mean they're not prepared to pounce on it when they're ready. It used to be that you could try to hold your hand close to your vest until an opportunity was available to magnify the awfulness of a damaging revelation and its consequences. Like saaay, the VP debate, with a massive uninformed female audience? If you push it too early and let it play out in the corporate media, you're giving them ample time to deflect and prepare against your argument, but most importantly you won't capture that gotcha moment that should await this bumbling fool. Can you imagine Senator Biden exposing the Governor for the piece of shit she is through one line of questioning pertaining to WOMEN'S ISSUES?
Maybe I'm wrong. I'm no political expert, obviously, but please, I wish people would stop assuming they know what's best for the smartest, most disciplined, and well-thought out campaign we've seen in our lifetime. If you make him look stupid and inept, the media will make sure it's perceived by EVERYONE that he doesn't know what the fuck he's doing with his own campaign (what, was it divine intervention that he made it this far?). There is nothing wrong with being suggestive and publicly paranoid, but it's not always helpful to dwell on a subject until you get your way.
As we've seen, hurricanes are going to vie for equal time on the television over the next month or so, which most likely means more time for unresolved implicative garbage, less time for the truth. The Obama campaign had to have assumed this was where we'd probably be in mid-September all the way back in February, when they knew it was going to be Maverick POW McCain on the other side. They know how to control a narrative effectively, and I'm sure they'll know when to promote this story.
Relax. This isn't 2000 or 2004. We're still OK so far, and we've still got a looong way to go.
8:00pm: Man, forgive me for this rant, but this is really getting frustrating. For a few, this has obviously become personal. That's understandable, I just wish they could see how fucking arrogant they're coming across. Ever think that eliminating the 527's was expected to be temporary all along? So the campaign was directly controlling the narrative (which seemed to work just fine up until a week ago), so we're not fighting and defending too many battles at once or at the wrong time? So they didn't have to waste time defending attack ads that they didn't make? Whenever we're arguing and yelling at each other publicly, that's just an added bonus for the corporate press, the McCain campaign, and the GOP in general. Now we're publicly attacking our own candidate and his staff (this sure is starting to feel familiar). Wonderful. You're potentially making him have to explain why he bent to keep the liberal blogs happy if he does what you want (which they may have been planning to do, anyway), which is kind of like what we're accusing McCain of doing in picking Palin.
I wonder if the media will say things like, "I know Barack Obama, and he just really isn't like this..." I'm not going to hold my breath.
