Yes, Yes, Yes Ladies!

I understand that this may piss off and offend delicate flowers and true pacifists, but to me it ultimately means eventual equality. Like it or not, we need men to fill the seats in women's sports. Not enough of our sex are committed rooting on other women, so we need to draw more die hard sports guys into our leagues so women can justify equal pay and equal time. In order for that to happen while keeping their integrity and dignity by not shortening shorts or lowering necklines (unless you're Serena Williams, who makes up her own fucking rules, which is why I love her), the majority have to compete like men. I know I always did, and wouldn't have it any other way. We scrimmaged boys who didn't like losing to us, but we were even tougher playing the girls. We were not nice young ladies by any standards while on the pitch. We tripped, tackled, elbowed, pushed, almost fought, I even got run over and kicked once when my feet were taken out from underneath me. And we were an under 13 team, but we fucking won, a lot, over several years. When you play football and basketball with boys growing up you have to learn to take your licks while giving them in kind. Sports men can appreciate that more than many typical women fans because of their own experiences. I've stated before I know many women and men disagree, but I do not believe in separate rules for the sexes. It pisses me off women are required to wear a cage in hockey; I think it should be optional. It's absurd and insulting that they can't check, but I understand many of the women like it that way, so it probably won't ever change. I still love to watch women's hockey, but must admit it gives me pause in letting my girl get into a sport that I can't explain to her why there are separate rules for girls and boys. I hate that I can't explain why women's tennis can only go to 3 sets, while men go to 5. It makes no sense to me.

Watch the USA v Japan game on Saturday. Our girls should be pissed the fuck off after the loss to Norway. After that game tell me you'd rather watch their sloppy half-assed play against an opponent they don't particularly have a lot of hate for, as opposed to the tension that will be boiling over with the 3 points needed by both the US and Japan, teams that already really don't like one another, and you'd be lying. Or you're just not a sports fan.
