Aravosis summarizes the ridiculousness coming out of the McCain camp regarding the defense of the "cone of silence". I had assumed he was given the written questions in advance, anyway. Fucking Christ, they either think we're all stupid or simply harmless. This was clearly set on a Saturday night so Christians would have plenty to talk about in the morning, all for McCain's benefit. The day before, Warren even helped out by setting up the first question, getting the admission of guilt out of the way in an attempt to dismiss the pesky affair/divorce as an issue (which wow, really looked strained, was he trying to cry?). That way, the next few months they can say, "he has already addressed that topic, you liberal reporter (blogger is probably more accurate). He feels bad, OKAAY??? How dare you, he's a POW, ya know!" McCain only did well with those who have already made up their minds (likely more than half the crowd). Obama was exactly as he needed to be, probably won over a few converts, and inspired even more to find out who he really is instead of just trusting what they've been told. I don't see how anyone could watch that spectacle and think that McCain did any better than fair, and that was even with the fucking questions, allegedly. I just can't believe they were this careless. Wait, after all that has gone unchallenged, of course I can. Doesn't make it any less absurd.
