Do you know that I have only heard one general election ad, period, from McCain that was on MSNBC in the other room while I was reading the real news at my desk? One. People, if you can afford it, get a TIVO, program it, and turn off your television. Even though most newspapers are a bit of a joke these days, they're 10 times better than cable news if you don't have the internet to rely upon. And what the fuck is worth watching on television that you can't watch later (if I'm home I watch Olbermann at 8:15 or so, and voila, no stupid/insulting advertisements!)? I guarantee you'll feel free and you'll watch less TV. And it's so nice watching commercial-free television. If you want to help push campaign finance reform, tell people to stop paying attention to and/or formulating opinion from the political ads. All they do is control the narrative since part of the job of the 24 hour media is to beat how they perceive campaign marketing strategies into our heads. It' s just another way they decide what's important in an election year.
End Pissy Mid-Morning Rant (waking up to torture news pisses me off).
