Yes We Can, Do Both

As was shown in the primary, our presidential candidate can stand up and nuance his way into subduing the MSM, while badasses like Wesley Clark can go out and say things that not just anyone can just get away with, but most wouldn't have the balls, even though we're all thinking the same thing. It's not "swift boating" (and that media labeling shit, swift boating, flip-flopper and other childish epithets is a whole other issue) because he wasn't trying to discredit his dignity, service, and intention, he was only pointing out the fact that you can't use your service as a main qualification for leading the nation, especially if you don't have anything else to tout. As I told a friend earlier today, why we continue to think like republicans, I just don' t understand. The world isn't black and white, regardless of what the wingnuts and the media/marketers try to cram down our throats. It is not smart for a Presidential candidate, the to-be Commander-in-Chief, to disparage anyone's service in any way at all, unless that person has been court-martialled. And had he not answered to Clark's comments on his own terms, it's all we would have heard about for the next week, with the added, "why didn't he denounce the statement?" Instead, the McCain camp fucked themselves by sending out one of the "swiftboaters for truth" (fuck, I hate that stupid term), which, I suspect that sort of blunder will happen quite often over the next few months. As I've said since the beginning, he's playing a chess game with two entities, the McCain campaign/half-assed GOP and the corporate media, yet, he's still winning the battle, and he wasn't supposed to be here, remember? Can't we remember what we were all screaming at the Clinton supporters only a month ago? We all have to get him elected first, we'll sort shit out later. I'm not saying don't criticize or disagree, I'm just saying people have to stop this reactive shit. I'm a passionate person, so I'm guilty of it at times as well, but I also know when to keep my mouth shut and when to admit when I'm wrong, there's too much at stake here. Tomorrow will be another test of my love for the man, I hope he handles the faith thing as he has handled everything else, and expresses his faith in oneness and community as every bit as important as faith in a higher power. Some think they're interchangeable. I doubt we'll get left out simply for being "non-believers", as they like to call us. For me, faith in other humans is all I have.
