A Marine's Account of Torture in Iraq

A must read account of a Marine's experience in Iraq from Andrew Sullivan's blog. This was partially what the argument of any torture was about in the first place. If we do it, or even appear to, it's OK for some thug Iraqi officials (sometimes former insurgent/or current sympathizers) to mimic our low level of displayed principles. Just another way to ensure that Iraqi's continue to have internal hostility, continue to fight their neighbors and their government long after the majority of American troops have left, while we're overpaying Blackwater to protect all those oil companies and their executives. You know, the current administration and their minions that are about to move back in with Shell and the other horrible mindless money machine corporations. And there are the Halliburton/KBR/Bechtel's, or the new ones that will eventually pop up (subsidiaries) with new less-bloody names, but the same old faces, to clean up the revolving messes as they do little to keep the Iraqi's killing one another, including countless civilians, long after most our guys have returned home. They only get paid if there is controlled chaos. Of course, all the while you can bet there will be one finger eternally pointed at the democrats for the horrible consequences that will inevitably endlessly ensue, no matter whether they fold or not.
