Distraction Media

Observations from cleaning/doing laundry: Lately I've kept the upstairs TV on MSNBC while I'm doing laundry and shit that requires me to be up and down the stairs all day, and I've noticed that my more than a decade old observations of 24 hour media still has no real reason to change. That is pretty fucked up considering what has happened in the last 10 years. Big thanks to OJ and Bill Clinton's uncontrollable cock.

UFO's, Shark attacks, sinkholes, construction accidents (which are horrible, but seem to use a significant amount of live air time every day, as if there is something productive in speculating from a helicopter), Sex in the City, McClellan's book -minus any real tangible meaning and analysis of the media, new clergymen and sermons (and that guy is funny, those people need to pull the stick out there asses). It's not that all these things necessarily shouldn't be covered, it's that they're never given the proper weight or time.

There are wars going on, genocide, the economy is fucked, there's an important meeting regarding the election this weekend, there is a presidential candidate lying about serious issues, a lot, the victims of two horrendous major natural disasters are still mired in the catastrophic aftermath, soldiers are killing themselves at an alarming rate, there is a global food crisis, the environment is fucked, corporate corruption is still rampant, and war profiteering is hardly mentioned out side of Countdown on television (unless there is a movie made about it with a hot lead actor like John Cusack, he can't help it that he's hot), while billions of tax dollars are unaccounted for in Iraq. And that's just today's missing news off the top of my head.

Bahh, I'm just paranoid.
