Hillary's latest greatest strategy is to convince her followers that they were robbed of their nomination because "elites" in Washington, including the Democratic elites (read: Superdelegates), hate women (I guess that's news to Nancy Pelosi). Now, what possible reason is there for Hillary to latch on to this new strategy? Because she's planning on leaving the election in the next 3 weeks and ending things on a high note? Because she thinks she can win 90% of the vote and 90% of the remaining Superdelegates by telling Democrats that they're a bunch of bigots? Hillary has stopped the personal attacks against Obama, but that wasn't because she finally realized she can't win, and that in the meantime she was simply hurting the party. Hillary stopped attacking Obama because she realized that she can't win BY ATTACKING OBAMA. She's found a new foil, sexism, and she has a new plan she's going to ride all the way to the convention. And she's told us as much all along, but no one wanted to believe her.No one wanted to, but I took her at her word only because I kept catching a glimpse of that crazy Jack Torrance look in her eye, it's little bit chilling. I mean you can actually visibly see the little voice in her head reassuring her, 'no one is going to take this away from you'. I think it's why I can't watch her speak any more, she sounds a little more nuts with every "winning" speech. Also, Perk (lawyer-guy) pointed out to me that she actually gave the creepy speech downtown, only a few miles from here, in Jefferson County. Which was only one of two counties that voted for Obama (the other being Fayette County, where Lexington and U of K are). No wonder it was such a small crowd and seemed even more staged than usual. We have good, obedient sheep here.
I've had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach for months that this is all much slimier than we realize. That, at the very least, she's trying to force back alley deals to ensure she gets VP position or she'll stay in all the way. Possibly to run, as Cesca stated, as a Liebercrat Independent. Obama really can't offer her the VP position, he'd be selling himself and his message out.
I really hope my gut is wrong about all of this.
Don't you get the feeling that ever-present smirk Bush has on his face is starting to make sense? The biggest disaster administration in the history of this country is still winning the little battles. Another consequence of this sham is that while this carries on, a 3-way race, Bush is in his last dangerous year, and the majority of the public is only paying attention to this bullshit, which will only get worse if Clinton contests what the DNC decides to do about MI and FL. I'm of the opinion we need to start impeachment proceedings yesterday. Not only to keep them under the microscope, and hold them accountable, but also to tie McCain, and Clinton, if necessary, to the administration's actions.
More from Sudbay. And I'd like to point out that today, she evoked 2000 and the Florida debacle just as her surrogate, Lisa Caputo, did last night on MSNBC's primary coverage. She doesn't care if she can't win the battle in the end, she just needs to contest the nomination long enough that before we know it Obama is no longer "electable" (as he'd still be double teamed all summer long) and there she is waiting in the wings. Scary stuff.
