Sheeiit, all you have to do is go out and talk to a few working class people to know this is true. Louisville has a fairly self-sustaining economy on the whole, but for those who rely on individuals and their personal cash for work (like in high end residential construction), business is unpredictable right now because they're pinching their penny's, too, and the effect trickles down. There is such an influx of laborers and skilled subcontractors right now we have high end subs calling us for work, but we can't afford to work them even though we have more work than we can handle. It's fucked up because we're behind in debt and need to hire new guys to catch up, but we can't afford to pay them what they need (we won't underpay). Everyone is feeling it, and it's not going to get any easier.
