I'm a Registered Democrat!

I didn't think it would feel so weird, but it does. Surely, not as wrong as it would feel registering as a Republican, but strange nonetheless. In all honesty, if we had an open primary here I am not certain that I'd be doing this, yet, but deadlines always help with difficult decisions. I really was proud to have no allegiance to either party, but now I am really proud to belong to the party of Barack Obama. I have long-term commitment issues with anything that involves signed papers and the government unless it has something to do with upholding The Constitution, it's Amendments, or The Bill of Rights, so I am trusting the party is headed in the right direction. Forgive me, though, as long as the ghosts of Bill, Hillary, Mark, & Terry are still haunting the campaign and a powerful half of the party, I'm a little cautious. And it goes against my brain to choose a party that has been complicit in much that's happened over the last 8 years, but this is the beginning of a return to principles for party leaders, demanded by the people. That's all I’ve ever wanted to see, the people take the people's party back, from the top down or bottom up.
