'Tis the Season

Since we are still feeling ill here in my home, I thought I'd make an appropriate post. Now, I have to admit I try to stay away from cable news, as I don't want NewsCorp or Viacom telling me what is news (Anna Nichol, Lacy Peterson, etc.), so maybe I'm wrong about this, but where's the annual pandemic scare? You know, Monkey Pox, SARS, Bird Flu...I mean if you read the headlines around the world it sounds like for once we may actually have reason for concern and it doesn't really seem to be an issue here.
Maybe it's the sickness currently using my body as its host, or maybe it's just being the mother of a sick two year old, but I am worried we should be concerned that they're NOT covering it. I know it sounds like a reversal of logic, but have you looked at the headlines today? The Spice Girls? Who the fuck, other than Perez Hilton, gives a fuck about a band that should been laughed off the planet when their first shitty single was released into the audible realm? Jodie Foster is a lesbian? Shock (and why should I care who she fucks, again?)! So for once, I think I'd like to hear what the fuck were doing to prepare for the inevitable virus that is coming in either 2 years or 20, because we know it's coming eventually. But that's probably just because I feel like shit today, tomorrow I can seep back into ignorance and avoidance.
