When the fuck are y'all gonna learn? I don't have to watch "the call" to know it was bullshit. ALL. SPORT. IS. FIXED. In what world do the ultra wealthy and their lapdog politicians allow billions and billions of dollars in revenue to be left up to chance? I ((((STILL)))) can't believe this hasn't become more of a mainstream belief with all of the mounting evidence over the past decade. I LOVE SPORT. Probably more than most (NHL and NFL schedules used to run my life). However, I personally find it difficult to watch human beings who dedicate their young lives to working their asses off just to destroy their bodies and minds as drones for a game that isn't actually even played on/in the field/ice/pitch/court/ring. Call me crazy, I don't give a shit, but do some research before you make up your mind...please.

Edit: Also, to counter one of my favorite Toms (I have a cat named Tom Hanks, so...), I used to say the same thing: if there was wide-spread fixing, someone would talk sooner or later.  The thing is, they do just look up fixing or referee scandals, they're in every sport including e-sports. Second, not everyone or not even a lot of people have to be in on it or have access to the information that would provide a "truth" or "not truth" for it to be feasible.  I don't believe anything is scripted, I don't think it needs to be, it just has to look and feel both like anything can happen at any time and the referees are doing a good (not great) job at making unbiased calls that don't look like they're controlling the pace of the game. The easiest way to do this is to call it "loose" or "tight."

Think about what goes into legally "fixing" our elections for capitalism.  If everyone benefits -- lobbyists/politicians/corporations/the wealthy in capitalism - or players, management/owners, mayors/cities in sports -- in the end then everyone can agree they'll all get their share and their turn at the big prize as long, as the team is valuable enough.  Just keep putting more and more money into your players, your team, your field, and increasing revenue and their owner's valuation exponentially. They don't have to be an over/under kind of fix based upon one play or even game. Think "tone" of a game or series, even up calls, reputational calls, being hyper-by-the-book or calling it "loose," ie "letting them play" -- which is completely subjective and has no real meaning -- building off momentum or completely stopping it in it's tracks. Think of a losing team down by 2 scores a shorthanded goal, that gets called back on a questionable trip behind the play, then the other team scores on the now 4 on 3 making the lead even harder to surmount. After celebrating 30 seconds earlier and see a path of they could win, now all they can think about now is how the fuck are they going to kill the rest of this penalty when at least 20K people know they should be going for an even-up goal. Any of these kinds of things happen mid-game and it can completely steer an outcome of a game, or series, especially if your a professional who is paid to make it look good.  And I do believe a fix can be beat, it's just likely becoming harder and harder to do as more and more money is at stake and they care less and less about integrity and appearing honorable because in general there is no value in that virtue anymore.

People will say you're stupid if you suggest there is some level of fixing in their sport. Unless they have direct proof their team is getting fucked, they won't care even when there is proof of widespread fixing. Somehow, someway enough people root for the psychopathic oligarchs to allow them to do whatever they want.  The assumption is the people, fans, are too stupid, invested, or brainwashed -- meaning, they won't ask questions, and will actively stifle those who do. The replay and review features are made to look as if they're adding to the integrity of the sport, but I believe they're just there to give the illusion of integrity and in some cases, intentionally or not, gaslight the fuck out of millions of people so they don't know what's what anymore. If you could trust your refs, why would you need more integrity than what 80K in person eyes looking at the same fucking thing you are, who can see for themselves that a blatantly bad call was made. Anyway, I'm not going to get into the entire theory here, but it's out there, and there are others who have similar beliefs that aren't conspiracy theory addicts.
